Christmas Special ‘How Social Media Changed My Life’ | JSB Talks Digital Episode #26

JSB Talks Digital is a weekly podcast show hosted by social media author, strategist, consultant, speaker and trainer Joanne Sweeney-Burke. Each Friday Joanne shares her digital marketing and social media insights from her work as CEO of Digital Training Institute.
It’s my 2016 Christmas Special
As you can see I was doing more than podcasting last week. I streamed our Christmas Special episode on Facebook Live.
I’ve been using social media for business and personally for nine years and it has now become my No 1 marketing and networking tool. What would you say if I told you that one tweet resulted in me keynoting at a conference in Phoenix, Arizona and selling my books to The Pentagon? Or that my podcast resulted in my being hired by the EPP Group in the EU Parliament?
Or that I win 80% of my business from my social media activities? Would you consider that’s possible for you?
- I ask my special guests Jenny Brennan & Paul O’Mahony how social media has changed their lives.
- Why Santa Claus has embraced social media and how it’s changing his life!
- Shout-outs to three events I have in my diary for the first quarter of 2017.
- We take viewers questions on how to use social media for business; and
- JSB Talks Digital, the Vlog – yes I’m going front of screen!

Paul O’Mahony helps launch JSB Talks Digital the vlog, and I’m getting a fit of the giggles with mortification at the life-size JSB sign 🙂

Shoutouts
So each week in the show I give shout-outs to people who are remarkable online and worth talking about. However, in this week’s show I wanted to share three events that are in my diary for the first quarter of 2017.
I’m going to attempt to unleash the warrior in JSB at this two-day business event taking place in Dublin’s Convention Centre on January 11th & 12th. . Organisers describe it as: “the world’s leading business and self-empowerment summit”.
I attended the event this year for the very first time, and I’m planning to make a return trip. It really is a WOW event with the world’s most talented social media practitioners from content to video, social advertising to tools and so much more. It also provides for fantastic networking opportunities. Did I mention they throw a party for delegates on a US military ship? That’s pretty cool also! So if you are interested log onto http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/smmworld/
However, check out my blog post on page 1 of Google when you type in Social Media Marketing World, I’ve given you my top 10 highlights of the 2016 event!
- Summit Live UK, From Risk to Revolution takes place from March 27-29 in London and is being organised by Victoria Taylor a previous guest on this podcast. The event promises to deliver tactics on Live & Social Video as well as Disruptive Technologies and looking at how these three elements work together to create the customer experience.
JSB Talks Digital The Vlog Launches
During my Christmas special I also launched my new vlog (video blog) also called JSB Talks Digital and it comes out every Monday. I think it will bring my digital world to life so I’d love if you subscribed!
