We are delighted to announce our new course which will be launched in October. Here is everything you need to know about the new course.

Young Minds Online is an online course, which will equip young people, aged 11-18 with the skills to stay safe when online. The course contains five modules and the learning materials are fully flexible so that they can be studied via desktop, tablet or mobile when at home, at school or simply on the go!

Course objectives:

• To educate young people on the importance of online reputation
• To empower young people to become leaders and ambassadors for best practice online
• To equip people with the social media skills that will help them in life, in education and in their future

Course Content

• Best practice tips and templates
• Role play activities
• Thought provoking videos
• Recommended reading material
• Webinars from trainers
• Gameful learning with tasks for each course module
• Certificate of Completion for student
• Outcome shared with parent or teacher upon completion (optional)
• Access to the secure social forum and online mentoring
• Optional final test – the highest scores will be given the opportunity to become a social media guru on the social forum

• 3-4 hours of learning per module

• Students will login to access course material
• All modules and learning materials are immediately accessible
• 24/7 student support and mentoring via online chat and webinars
• Online course has a limit date of 8 weeks from date of commencement
• All coursework and email correspondence will be treated as strictly private and confidential

Module 1 – Managing Your Online Reputation

On completion of this module you will understand

• The importance of online reputation
• Posting and publishing content
• The power of the search engine
• Managing your digital footprint

Module 2 – Online Privacy

On completion of this module you will understand

• Why privacy settings are important
• Social media privacy settings
• Securing your information

Module 3 – A Social Media Use Policy

On completion of this module you will:

• Understand Best practice social media use
• Develop a best practice social media use guide for yourself
• See how young people are using social media platforms
• Learn best practice in relation to posting online
• Learn to use your social media accounts while adhering to the best practice policy

Module 4 – Be a Cyber Buddy not a Cyber Bully

On completion of this course you will understand:

• What is cyber bullying?
• Types of cyber bulling
• How to identify a cyber bully
• The law and cyber bullying
• How to deal with a cyber bully
• How to be a cyber buddy

Module 5 – Webiquette

Just as you have etiquette in the real world it is important to have Webiquette when you are engaged in online activity

On completion of this module you will understand best practice Webiquette in terms of:

• Social media engagement
• Inputting personal and career data
• Imagery
• Engaging in convesations
• Representing your school, workplace or family

When, Where and How to Enrol

• Once enrolled you will receive an email confirming your registration with receipt of pay,emt
• Within 48 hours you will get a second email with the login and actiation code, which will give you full access to your course
• At the end of your course you will receive a certificate of completion by email and be given the opportunity to take a final test
• Those scoring in the top 5% on the final test will be given the opportunity to become social media gurus on the social forum!
