In my column this week, I’m posing the question: Digital diaries: valuable personal branding or feeding hungry egos?
I’m considering launching a vlog as I’ve been ignoring the world’s second largest search engine for far too long! JSB’s Digital Diaries on YouTube will bring to life my work at home and abroad in the digital space and provide more insights, personal musings as well as JSB’s digital tips and tricks.
Personal vlogs on YouTube are hugely popular and in fact among Generation Z, YouTube vloggers are their number one source of entertainment.
So I got thinking about this digital age phenomenon.
Are vlogs – or digital diaries – simply another personal branding medium or are we feeding our own egos?
To answer this question I thought I would put into context why I would vlog. Often it’s very difficult to explain to those removed from the social web or indeed the world of digital marketing why we do, what we do online.
