Google’s story is a recognisable one: Two Stanford doctoral understudies, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, built up an arrangement of calculations that in 1998 started a good lord jump in Web-seek execution. Essentially, they transformed pursuit into a fame challenge. Notwithstanding checking an expression’s appearance on a Web page, as different motors did, it evaluated significance by tallying the number and significance of different pages that connected to that page.

“Adaptability is costly,” says Craig Silverstein, a 30-year-old specialist who dropped his quest for a Stanford PhD to end up Google’s first staff member.

“In any case, we feel that adaptability gives you a superior item. Is it accurate to say that we are correct? I believe we’re correct. More imperative, that is the kind of organization I need to work for.”

Google’s Growth

“Google” is now a verb as well as a noun. Its power is remarkable and its position on the Internet undisputed. It is the ultimate Goliath. The search engine first launched its web page on September 27th, 1998, which is now Google’s official birthday!

Google has become our best friend in terms of answering all our questions. Combined with the smartphone our lives have become effortless for practicalities on a day-to-day basis. lo

What’s interesting about Google is that their technology developments reflect changing consumer behaviour  and they know exactly how consumer behaviour has transformed since the smartphone explosion!

The home of the search engine monitors changes in the environment and responds quickly to them. Acquiring YouTube in its early days, releasing relevant and user-friendly apps such as Gmail and Google Maps, and of course the fun factor associated with Google Earth’s release make Google an all-round technological giant.

I think of the ease at which information can be found now and it’s mind-blowing to think it’s only 20 years in operation. Here’s to 20 more – Happy Birthday Google!
